A MAGNITUDE 5.5 earthquake on Monday night shook the waters near Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, struck 23 kilometers northeast of Lubang at 6:42p.m. Monday.
It had a depth of 116 kilometers.
Initially, Phivolcs reported magnitude 5.4 earthquake that hit the waters off Calatagan in Batangas.
Intensity 4 was recorded in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro
Intensity 3 in Quezon City, Makati City, Taguig City, Obando in Bulacan, Hermosa, Bataan; Cainta, Rizal; and Cabuyao City in Laguna.
Meanwhile, intensity 2 jolted Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Cuenca and Talisay in Batangas; and Tagaytay City and Bacoor in Cavite while intensity 1 in Muntinlupa City.
No injury and damage to property were reported.
