TWO wanted felons in Central Luzon who went home to visit their departed loved ones were arrested on All Saints’ Day in Nueva Ecija.
According to Nueva Ecija police chief Col. Heryl “Daguit” L. Bruno, the arrests were made amid perceptions that the suspects might go home to visit their loved ones’ graves on November 1.
One of the two suspects identified as alias “Ed,” 35, was arrested in General Natividad town.
Warrant operatives of the municipal police and the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office spotted the suspect inside the Talabutab Norte Cemetery at 6:05 a.m. on Saturday.
“Ed” is tagged as the number four most wanted person on the regional level and number one most wanted person in the provincial and the municipal levels.
The operation was covered by a Target Intelligence Packet (TIP) that led to the arrest.
The suspect was caught based on a standing arrest warrant for murder, with no bail recommended by the Cabanatuan City Regional Trial Court Branch 28 on August 19, 2025.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Jaen Police Station arrested alias “Turo,” 59, of Bgy. Lambakin, at a cemetery in Bgy. Don Mariano Marcos at 4:45 a.m. also on All Saints’ Day.
A TIP operation was also launched against the suspect, who is facing an outstanding arrest warrant for rape. with no bail recommended issued by the Gapan City Regional Trial Court Branch 27 on August 27, 2025.
“Turo” has been listed as number three most wanted person in the provincial level and number one as the town’s most wanted felon.
Bruno commended his men for the successful twin operations.
“Even during holidays, our police remain steadfast in their duty to maintain peace and order. We will not let law offenders take advantage of the season of remembrance,” said the official.
