CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs during the holiday season resulted in the arrest of six “high-value individuals” and the confiscation of illegal drugs and a firearm in a series of operations conducted across Nueva Ecija, Tarlac City, and Bulacan on December 23 and 24.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. said that in Bgy. Tampac 1, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, a joint buy-bust operation carried out shortly after midnight on December 24 led to the arrest of two “high-value” drug suspects.
Personnel from the Guimba Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), Special Operations Group Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, Provincial Intelligence Unit NEPPO, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 303rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, seized around 155 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,054,000.
Authorities also recovered an improvised firearm and two live bullets of a cal. .45 pistol.
Earlier, a buy-bust operation was conducted in Bgy. San Vicente, Tarlac City by joint operatives of the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) and the Tarlac City police.
Arrested were two individuals while confiscated were around 53 grams of suspected shabu valued at P360,400, along with the buy-bust money and other drug-related evidence.
In Bgy. Caingin, Bocaue, Bulacan, personnel of the Bocaue police apprehended two suspects in separate buy-bust operations and seized were at least 55 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P374,000.
Peñones said police operations remain continuous despite the holiday period.
“Even during the holidays, our fight against illegal drugs does not stop. Our personnel remain on full alert to protect our communities and ensure that criminals cannot take advantage of this time,” he said.
Peñones reiterated the PRO3’s commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda of acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., and to public safety in Central Luzon.
