OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested a man illegally selling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Nueva Ecija.
According to CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 chief Col. Grant Gollod Col. Gollod, suspect alias Wemman,” 50, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Purok 1 in Bgy. Kalikid, Cabanatuan City.
CIDG Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the LPG Marketers Association Inc. (LPGMA) conducted the sting.
The suspect was caught selling empty LPG cylinders bearing the trademarks of Republic Gas Corporation (Regasco) and South Pacific Incorporation (SPI) without proper authorization.
Confiscated were 81 empty Regasco cylinders, 14 SPI cylinders, three empty “kalan” units, one 50-kilogram Regasco cylinder, the buy-bust money and boodle money, and an official receipt, with a total estimated value of P196,450.
The suspect is now under the custody of the CIDG Nueva Ecija facing chargers for trademark infringement and unfair trade competition.
