THE National Shrine and Parish of St. Padre Pio in Bgy. San Pedro, Santo Tomas City, Batangas has been officially elevated to an International Shrine.
The shrine achieved the new status after receiving a decree from the Holy See issued through the Dicastery for Evangelization in Vatican City.
The announcement was made in the parish’ official social media account.
The decree was issued on the 139th birth anniversary of St. Padre Pio last May 25, 2026.
The parish invited everyone to pray and prepare for the formal declaration of its new status which is scheduled to take place on Sept. 23, 2026, coinciding with the Feast Day of St. Padre Pio.
