TWO children aged 3 and 4, on Friday died in a fire that razed their house in Bgy. Biluso, Silang, Cavite.
Victims Rhian Barrientos, a 4-year-old kindergarten student, and her brother Rhyle, 3., were killed after they were trapped in their burning house.
The victims were hugging each other when their remains were recovered from their burnt house.
An investigation showed the victims’ mother, Geraldine, 22, left her children to gather firewood. When she returned, the house was already engulfed in flames.
Police investigation showed the fire started around 3 p.m. Friday.
The victims’ relatives told police that prior to the fire, they heard a loud explosion. They tried to rescue the two kids but were prevented by the raging blaze.
It took an hour before firefighters were able to put out the fire, which authorities theorized was caused by an LPG tank that exploded.
