A TOTAL of 155 pet dogs and cats on Sunday were spayed and neutered during the operation held at the Animal Pound Center in Bgy. Pasong Kawayan 2, General Trias City, Cavite.
Dr. Gloria Digma of the General Trias City Veterinary Office led the program, in partnership with the Cavite State U College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Calabarzon Veterinary Center for free culling of pets.
Agricultural technologist Gaylord Aguilar said the activity was supported by the local government under the leadership of Mayor Luis Ferrer IV.
Digma said the purpose of the program is to prevent the increase of stray animals and the rise of domestic animals unexpectedly.
She also said that the anti-rabies drive in the 33 barangays for the protection of the people against rabies is still ongoing.
She added that more than a thousand pet dogs and cats are vaccinated every month by the City Veterinary Office.
