BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CLARK Development Corporation (CDC) on Monday presented the solar potential of Clark Freeport Zone to Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla in a bid to advance renewable energy.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CDC president and CEO attorney Agnes VST Devanadera showcased the 20 locators with current solar rooftop installations and identified 23 additional locators with potential rooftop space in Clark Freeport Zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Devanadera emphasized the benefits and aimed to help businesses use incentives to enhance efficiency and sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n During the meeting, Devanadera shared insights from the 2023 study “Shedding Sunlight on Clark’s Potential for Rooftop Solar” by Thinking Machines Data Science.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The study identified 246 hectares of potential rooftop space in Clark Freeport, with an estimated solar installation capacity of 246 MW.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The presentation followed a recent discussion with Assistant Secretary Mylene Capongcol, director of the Renewable Energy Management Bureau at the Department of Energy, on the DOE’s enhanced rooftop policy and the Expanded Roof-Mounted Solar Program (ERSP).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CDC aims to fully utilize this potential through various initiatives and collaboration with the DOE.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Currently, only 1.3% of the potential solar rooftop area in Clark is being used, and CDC is dedicated to increasing this figure.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The ERSP\u2019s goals align closely with CDC\u2019s commitment to promoting renewable energy within the Clark Freeport Zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The program supports CDC\u2019s vision of a sustainable, energy-efficient environment for its locators, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" BY KEVIN GALANG CLARK Development Corporation (CDC) on Monday presented the solar potential of Clark Freeport Zone to Energy Secretary Raphael P.M.
