TWO overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) died in a fire that hit a house in Kuwait, the \u00a0Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) \u00a0confirmed \u00a0Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Both victims were from Capiz.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Labor Attach\u00e9 Manuel M. Dimaano of the DMW Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Kuwait reported that the fire broke out on December 2 in a residence <\/strong>in the Al Adan area of the Mubarak Al Kabeer governorate, south of Kuwait City.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAccording to the report, the workers\u2019 cause of death was due to inhalation of non-breathable, toxic gases from the fire,\u201d Dimaano said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said they are <\/strong>currently handling the legal procedures and addressing concerns related to the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The MWO in Kuwait is now processing the documents for the repatriation of the remains of the victims to their families in the Philippines.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, the DMW Regional Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Western Visayas visited the families of the OFWs in Capiz and extended financial assistance during this difficult time.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has expressed condolences to the grieving families and assures them of its full support.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" TWO overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) died in a fire that hit a house in Kuwait, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed Friday.
