BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Pampanga Field Unit over the weekend confiscated at least a total of P152 million counterfeit footwear in a raid at a manufacturing plant in San Simon, Pampanga.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Members of the CIDG, in coordination with Baranda and Associates as Crocs brand representatives, and the local police, executed a series of warrants against a manufacturing plant making counterfeit footwear located at Global Aseana Park 2, Bgy. San Pablo Libutad, San Simon, Pampanga.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The operation was aimed at<\/strong> dismantling a counterfeit production ring operated by “Chongjian,\u201d a Chinese national doing business under the name \u201cApexel.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n However, the Chinese was not around during the raid.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Deloso Torre III said the raid resulted in the confiscation of over 45,000 pairs of counterfeit footwear bearing the trademark “Crocs,” molding plates, raw materials, machinery, sales invoices, and order slips. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The search warrants were issued by the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 24 for violation of Section 155 in relation to Section 170 of Republic Act 8293 (Trademark Infringement).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n All the confiscated items were turned over to the brand representatives for safekeeping, pending the clarificatory hearing scheduled on February 26, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe operation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to uphold the rule of law and protect the interests of businesses and consumers. Counterfeit goods not only undermine legitimate enterprises but also pose significant risks to public safety,\u201d PNP chief Gen.
