MANILA\u00a0 Mayor Honey Lacuna \u00a0recently inaugurated the city\u2019s first rent-to-own public condominium.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The local government unit said the housing project aims to provide affordable condominium units to low-income residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n City engineer Moises Alcantara said the 20-storey condominium building houses 299 residential units, 143 parking slots, five commercial spaces, five elevator units, a swimming pool, fitness room, function room, roof deck, and indoor and outdoor activity areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A super health center also opened in the building and will provide free medical services such as laboratory exams, ultrasound and X-ray. There are also rooms for dental care and minor surgeries.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Pedro Gil residences is a flagship project of the Lacuna administration.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Under the rent-to-own scheme, residents will pay only P2,000 to P3,000 per month.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lacuna said the program is a shift from the previous administration\u2019s approach, which provided housing under terms that denied residents eventual ownership.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n She said the condominium units will be raffled off to eliminate bias, ensuring fairness for qualified beneficiaries.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lacuna added that the housing project is not just for government employees but for all Manile\u00f1os.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna recently inaugurated the city’s first rent-to-own public condominium.
