SENATE President Francis \u201cChiz\u201d Escudero on Wednesday expressed confidence that the Philippine economy will remain strong despite the<\/strong> ongoing political developments.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The leader of the Senate made the remarks as the<\/strong> nation remains divided over former president Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s ongoing trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Escudero said he is confident the ongoing political noise will have a minimal impact on the economy<\/strong> as economic foundations remain strong.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He pointed out the strong democratic processes in place that will safeguard the Philippine economy from major disruption.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThis demonstrates the stability of our economy notwithstanding the political noise,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In fact, according to Escudero, the Philippines continues to be among the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, even growing at a faster pace than Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cPalaging may epekto ang anumang ingay sa politika sa mga negosyante.
