{"id":15396,"date":"2025-07-24T02:37:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-23T18:37:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=15396"},"modified":"2025-07-24T02:55:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T18:55:36","slug":"state-of-calamity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2025\/07\/24\/state-of-calamity\/","title":{"rendered":"STATE OF CALAMITY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>SEVERAL local government units declared a state of calamity due to the effect of the onslaught of the southwest monsoon or habagat and the recent tropical cyclone \u201cCrising.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Under a state of calamity, the city or municipality can use its calamity funds to quickly respond to the needs of its constituents.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The declaration will also allow the local government to impose a price freeze on basic commodities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Placed under a state of calamity are Quezon City, Manila, Malabon, Las Pinas, and Marikina City in the <\/strong><strong>National Capital Region; Dagupan City, Malasiqui, Calasiao, Umingan, Sta. Barbara, Lingayen, Mangaldan and Mangatarem in Pangasinan in Region 1 or Ilocos Region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>In Region 3 or Central Luzon:<\/strong><strong> Balagtas, Calumpit, Paombong and Meycauayan in Bulacan; and Paniqui in Tarlac.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>In Region 4A (Calabarzon), Agoncillo in Batangas, the province of Cavite;; Cainta, San Mateo and Rodriguez (formerly Montalban) in Rizal are also  under a state of calamity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>In Region 4B (Mimaropa), a state of calamity was also declared in Roxas in Palawan;
