{"id":15439,"date":"2025-07-26T07:43:24","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T23:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=15439"},"modified":"2025-07-26T07:43:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T23:43:25","slug":"9-boc-personnel-sacked-over-alleged-extortion-at-naia-terminal-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2025\/07\/26\/9-boc-personnel-sacked-over-alleged-extortion-at-naia-terminal-3\/","title":{"rendered":"9 BOC PERSONNEL SACKED OVER ALLEGED EXTORTION AT NAIA TERMINAL 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) has relieved nine &nbsp;Customs personnel linked to a reported extortion incident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The BOC likewise implemented a 24-hour complaint reporting policy to ensure immediate action on personnel misconduct.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The incident, which occurred in June 2025, is now the subject of a full-blown investigation by the Internal Inquiry Division of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The involved personnel have been removed from their posts pending the outcome of the probe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe take these matters seriously and there will be no leniency for personnel who abuse their position. Any form of misconduct will be met with immediate and appropriate action,\u201d BOC Commissioner Nepomuceno said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>To further institutionalize discipline and transparency, the BOC has also issued a memorandum dated July 24, 2025 directing all Deputy Commissioners, District Collectors, District Commanders, Port Supervisors, Examiners, and concerned personnel to report formal written complaints filed against BOC personnel to the Office of the Commissioner within 24 hours.
