Ritchie Claravall reported to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr. that arrested were alias \u201cVin,\u201d and alias \u201cShe,\u201d both residents of Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Personnel of the Olongapo City Police Station were manning a checkpoint on the national highway in Bgy. Kalaklan when they flagged down the suspects on a motorcycle for not wearing helmets.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The suspects showed signs of resistance, prompting the police to conduct a protective frisk, which led to the discovery of around 71.66 grams of shabu worth at least P487,288 from the male rider. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The duo were immediately arrested and will be charged with violations of Republic Act 10054 (Motorcycle Helmet Act), Disobedience Upon an Agent of a Person in Authority, and Violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Penones commended the swift response and alertness of the operating personnel.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThis incident underscores how consistent law enforcement, even through routine checkpoints, can yield significant breakthroughs in our anti-drug campaign.
