PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday administered the oath of office to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon in Malaca\u00f1ang.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n President Marcos also administered the oath of office to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The President appointed former DOTr Secretary Dizon to replace former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Chief Executive at the same time named DOTr Undersecretary Lopez to assume the post vacated by Dizon.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In a media interview in Pasay City, President Marcos said he accepted the resignation of Bonoan after the latter took command responsibility for the anomalous flood control projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI think it was Secretary Bonoan who said basically that he took responsibility because\u2026 all of these problems happened under his watch,\u201d the President said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cSo, under the principle of command responsibility, he felt that he should leave his post.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Chief Executive said he appointed Dizon to lead the DPWH after performing well as DOTr Secretary in initiating improvements and setting up reforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s done a very good job sa DOTr. And I think he\u2019s already set the stage for all of the things that we need to do.
