{"id":16160,"date":"2025-09-04T01:48:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T17:48:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=16160"},"modified":"2025-09-04T01:49:36","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T17:49:36","slug":"35-of-filipinos-say-life-improved-sws-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2025\/09\/04\/35-of-filipinos-say-life-improved-sws-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"35% OF FILIPINOS SAY LIFE IMPROVED \u2013 SWS SURVEY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>THIRTY-FIVE percent of Filipino adults believed their lives improved in the past 12 months, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Conducted from June 25 to 29, the latest SWS quarterly national survey showed that 35 percent of Filipino adults said their quality of life was better than 12 months before.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>On the other hand, 23 percent of Filipino adults thought their lives had gotten worse over the past year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, 42 percent of Filipino adults reported that their lives were the same as a year ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>As adults who said they were better off now than 12 months ago outnumbered those who claimed they were worse off than a year ago, SWS said the net \u201cgainers\u201d score of +12 was \u201cvery high.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>SWS defines \u201cgainers\u201d as those who believe their quality of life has improved, \u201closers\u201d as those who think it has worsened, and \u201cunchanged\u201d as those who say it has stayed the same.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>This was the highest net score since December 2024, when the net score was at +13, according to the SWS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Malaca\u00f1ang welcomed the most recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIt is definitely good news. The administration welcomes the result of the survey,\u201d Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAnd Filipinos can rest assured that their government will continue to work hard to improve the condition and quality of life of every citizen, especially those who need it most,\u201d Castro added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the SWS, the survey asking respondents to assess their change in quality of life over the past 12 months began in April 1983.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Second Quarter 2025 Social Weather Survey was conducted from June 25-29, 2025, using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 individuals who are 18 years old and above, nationwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The survey interviewed 300 respondents each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), the Visayas, and Mindanao.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The survey items were non-commissioned and included on SWS\u2019 initiative and released as a public service.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THIRTY-FIVE percent of Filipino adults believed their lives improved in the past 12 months, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
