BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga \u2014 Police have solved the September 6 carnapping and detention incident case in Bulacan following the arrest of all suspects and the recovery of the stolen vehicle in Muntinlupa City.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Authorities are checking if the arrested suspects are tied to bigger rent-a-car \u201csale and sangla\u201d syndicates.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Victim \u201cJason,\u201d a transport service driver from Taguig City, told police that he rented out to the suspects.<\/strong><\/strong> his red Toyota Innova in Marilao, Bulacan.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n But instead of paying for the service, the suspects forcibly took the vehicle, blindfolded \u201cJason,\u201d and detained him in an inn in San Rafael, Bulacan.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The victim managed to escape by leaping from the second-floor window.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hot pursuit operations immediately followed, resulting in the arrest of three suspects\u2014alias \u201cBoss J,\u201d alias \u201cKulas,\u201d and alias \u201cNap.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The suspects female co-accused, an alias \u201cNic,\u201d voluntarily surrendered to the Baliwag City police on September 7. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n All four were positively identified by the victim as those responsible for the crime.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n An investigation showed that the suspects initially tried to sell the Toyota Innova through a rent-a-car \u201csale\u201d scheme, but the deal did not push through. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Instead, the suspects pawned the vehicle for P150,000 to a certain Mr. Bernardo in Quezon City, a method commonly linked to the \u201crent tangay-sangla\u201d modus.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Through intelligence operations, Baliwag City police led by Lt. Col. Jayson F. San Pedro, under the supervision of Bulacan police director Col. Angel Garcillano, recovered the abandoned Toyota Innova with plate number NJA 1883 in Bgy. Cupang, Muntinlupa City on September 10.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The recovered vehicle is now in police custody.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Pe\u00f1ones Jr. commended the swift resolution of the case.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe recovery of the Innova not only solves a single case but also exposes the operations of rent tangay-benta\/sangla groups. Our units, together with the Highway Patrol Group, are conducting deeper investigations to determine if these suspects are linked to larger criminal networks,\u201d the official said.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIn light of the 7-Focus Agenda of our acting PNP chief Lt.
