BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CONGRESSMAN Carmelo \u201cPogi\u201d Lazatin of the 1st<\/sup> district of Pampanga has taken steps to bring the government\u2019s P20 per kilo rice program closer to his constituents.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last Thursday, Lazatin, accompanied by Chief Political Affairs officer Reina Manuel, met with officers from the Department of Agriculture Region 3 led by Business Development officer Glory Ann Herrera to discuss the initiative.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The lawmaker earlier filed House Resolution 278, urging the DA to establish KADIWA \u201cBenteng Bigas Meron Na\u201d rolling stores in the first district of Pampanga.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n At present, 162 KADIWA outlets nationwide sell rice at P20 per kilo.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Pampanga solon noted that there are insufficient outlets or \u201cpop-up\u201d stores to serve vulnerable sectors in the province on a regular basis.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe KADIWA program is significant in addressing food security, especially for marginalized communities.
