The bombing of the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday also sparked anger and protest in Arab countries.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq issued statements condemning Israel and accusing its military of bombing the hospital.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Thousands of protesters shouting anti-Israel slogans gathered in Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, and Tunisia.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Protests also rocked the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Palestinian militant group Hamas accused Israel of being behind the attack it described as a \u201chorrific massacre\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Israeli army, meanwhile, blamed the strike on a misfired rocket by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a Gaza-based Islamic militant group and ally of Hamas.<\/p>\n

According to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, he was “horrified by the killing of hundreds of Palestinian civilians in a strike on a hospital in Gaza.<\/p>\n

African Union chief Moussa Faki Mahamat accused Israel of a “war crime” following the deadly strike.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“There are no words to fully express our condemnation of Israel’s bombing of a #Gaza hospital today, killing hundreds of people,” Faki said on X, formerly Twitter, calling for the international community to act.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit said “the West must stop this tragedy immediately.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli bombing of the Ahli hospital, which led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent victims.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He called the bombing a clear violation of the international law.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told EU lawmakers that “there is no excuse for hitting a hospital full of civilians” and that “fact need to be established” and “all those responsible must be held accountable.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n

The blast on Tuesday at Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City has left hundreds of Palestinians dead, according to Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The exact death toll is currently unclear, with Gaza officials providing conflicting numbers ranging from 200 to 500 people.<\/p>\n
