{"id":18261,"date":"2026-01-16T00:37:39","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T16:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=18261"},"modified":"2026-01-16T00:37:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T16:37:39","slug":"p10m-reward-offered-for-arrest-of-atong-ang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/01\/16\/p10m-reward-offered-for-arrest-of-atong-ang\/","title":{"rendered":"P10M REWARD OFFERED FOR ARREST OF ATONG ANG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>INTERIOR and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Thursday said the government will provide a P10- million reward for information leading to the arrest of businessman Charlie \u201cAtong\u201d Ang, the lead accused in the case involving the missing \u201csabungeros.\u201d<\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<p>Remulla described Ang as armed and dangerous.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAng DILG ay maglalagay ng 10 million na patong para sa kaniyang pagkakaaresto. Any information leading to the conclusive arrest of Atong Ang will merit a 10-million peso reward,\u201d Remulla said, noting that this aims to speed up the arrest of Ang.<\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<p>The DILG chief called on Ang to stop evading arrest and cooperate with authorities. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSurrender now peacefully and we will treat you with respect. If you become a fugitive from the law, then we will treat you like a fugitive,\u201d Remulla said.<\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<p>The DILG chief stressed that law enforcement operations will strictly follow due process. \u201cWalang extrajudicial killing (EJK) na plano ang PNP,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>He said that right now, the 320,000 police personnel of the PNP have been directed to take part in the nationwide manhunt for Ang, now tagged by the government as the \u201cmost wanted criminal in the country.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile,\u00a0police failed to serve arrest warrants against Ang after he was not found in several of his properties.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On Thursday, police went to two properties of Ang in Mandaluyong City to serve warrants for kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping with serious illegal detention but he was not there.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On Wednesday, NBI agents also failed to locate Ang at his farm in Lipa City, Batangas and in Sta.
