Tejeros, Makati City.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fatalities were a 70-year-old female and her 69-year-old husband.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Six others were also injured.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The fire razed a residential area on <\/strong><strong>D. Gomez St. corner\u00a0 Sandico St. Bgy. Tejeros, Makati City around 1:50 a.m.\u00a0Saturday. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The blaze immediately spread to the adjacent houses.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responding firefighters helped contained the blaze. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The fire reached third alarm. A fire out was declared at 6:40 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNakakalungkot na balita kasi merong mag-asawa na nasawi dahil dun sa sunog. Ang confirmed casualty ay dalawa,\u201d Makati Mayor Nancy Binay said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u201cIlilipat natin sa Barangay Carmona Covered Court. So pansamantala, doon muna sila magstay,\u201d she added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The Makati Social Welfare Department said around 126 families were rendered homeless by the blaze.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arson investigators are determining what started the fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TWO elderly couple on Saturday died in a fire that hit a residential area in Bgy.
