PRESIDENT <\/strong>Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday instructed concerned government agencies to immediately take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of Filipinos in affected areas, following reports of airstrikes that struck Iran, Malaca\u00f1ang said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a statement posted on X, President Marcos directed the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) to take the necessary steps to check on the situation of Filipinos in Iran and the Middle East.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have received reports of airstrikes that hit Iran. We are in the process of getting more information,\u201d the President said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIn the meantime, the safety of Filipino citizens in Iran and in the Middle East is paramount. I have instructed the DFA and the DMW to take measures to determine their whereabouts in affected areas and to take immediate measures to ensure their safety,\u201d President Marcos added.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The DFA has reported that there are no Filipinos affected or harmed in the attacks. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe DFA has assured that Embassies stand ready to assist our nationals. We continue to advise Filipinos to stay in their homes or safe places and refrain from going out to public places at this time,\u201d the DFA said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates reiterate its advice to all Filipinos in the UAE to stay calm, remain sheltered in their homes, and limit unnecessary movement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In its latest advisory, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority announced the \u201ctemporary and partial closure of the UAE\u2019s airspace\u201d as an exceptional precautionary measure. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The move aims to ensure the safety of flights and aircrews and safeguarding the territory of the UAE, amid rapidly escalating security developments in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE Philippine Embassies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Jordan told Filipinos in their jurisdictions to limit movement as Iran bombards several United States bases in the Middle East in retaliation to a joint Israeli-US military operation on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Explosions were heard in parts of the Middle East, including Abu Dhabi in UAE, Manama in Bahrain, and Kuwait, while local authorities activated sirens and issued alerts to residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Israeli-US and Iranian exchange of strikes officially marked a major escalation in a years-long tension over Tehran\u2019s nuclear program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

IRANINAN STATE TV CONFIRMS SUPREME LEADER ALI KHAMENEI KILLED<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Iranian state television announced on Sunday that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The broadcaster did not immediately provide further details about the circumstances of his death.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There were also reports that among several military officials killed in the joint airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets was Iran\u2019s chief of staff of the armed forces Abdolrahim Mousavi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

State media also reported that 40 days of public mourning were declared in Iran following the announcement of the death of Khamenei .<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Supreme National Security Council said Supreme Leader Khamenei was killed at his office on Saturday morning and that his death would mark the beginning of a \u201cgreat uprising against the tyrants of the world.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier on Saturday, US President Donald Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social that Khamenei was \u201cdead.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
