{"id":19548,"date":"2026-04-11T23:50:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-11T15:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=19548"},"modified":"2026-04-11T23:50:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T15:50:17","slug":"pro3s-intensified-safer-cities-drive-arrests-over-3k-violators-in-central-luzon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/04\/11\/pro3s-intensified-safer-cities-drive-arrests-over-3k-violators-in-central-luzon\/","title":{"rendered":"PRO3&#8217;S INTENSIFIED \u2018SAFER CITIES\u2019 DRIVE ARRESTS OVER 3K VIOLATORS IN CENTRAL LUZON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BY KEVIN GALANG<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CAMP CAPTAIN JULIAN OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga \u2014 The Police Regional Office 3\u2019s (PRO3s) stepped up operations as part of the government\u2019s \u201cSafer Cities\u201d program arrested more than 3,000 violators across Central Luzon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Under the initiative led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), Police Provincial Offices (PPOs) and City Police Offices (CPOs) heightened security measures were implemented in key public areas, including transport terminals, commercial centers, major roads, and other convergence zones.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Records showed that from April 6 to 9, 2026, authorities recorded 3,265 violators for various local ordinance infractions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Of the number, 1,345 were cited for curfew violations, 1,034 for drinking in public places, 823 for public half-naked exposure, and 63 for loud videoke disturbances.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Most violators or 2,993 individuals were issued warnings while 272 were fined, generating a total of P125,300 in penalties.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Authorities also issued 253 citation tickets, with no cases escalating to formal charges during the period.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Police units continue to carry out foot and mobile patrols, inspections, and visibility operations aimed at maintaining peace and order while strengthening the public\u2019s sense of security.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, the intensified campaign highlights the police force\u2019s commitment to responsive and community-oriented service.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cPulis Central Luzon nagbibigay ng serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman. Iyan ang pamantayan na patuloy nating isinusulong sa bawat operasyon at sa bawat komunidad na ating pinaglilingkuran,\u201d Mendez said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Central Luzon top cop also reiterated the importance of sustained coordination with local government units, barangay officials, and force multipliers to ensure a unified approach in maintaining peace and order across the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The program supports the PNP\u2019s focused agenda under PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C.
