THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Saturday, June 7, 2026 suspended for 90-days the driver’s license of a criminology student in a viral road rage incident in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LTO headed by Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao also \u00a0placed the Suzuki hatchback involved in the incident under alarm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A show-cause order was likewise issued against the said student.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Prior to the suspension order, a group of alleged drunk criminology students riding a car were videotaped blocking the road, with its driver forcibly challenging the driver of a truck traversing the Vergara Highway near Lakewood City in Cabanatuan City last Friday.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Based on the viral video, the student slammed the truck door several times while shouting \u201cwhy are you so arrogant.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the viral post, the video uploader said: \u201cMga student pa lan ng criminology abusado na, kung makaasta feeling pulis na.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Upon receiving the report, Nueva Ecija police director Col. Ritchie R. Claravall immediately directed Cabanatuan City police chief Lt. Col. Renato C. Morales to investigate the Facebook post that went viral.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cabanatuan City police contacted the video uploader who promised to personally appear to the police station Monday for the filing of appropriate charges against the student.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office likewise sought the help of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to track down the Suzuki Hatchback seen in the footage.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, <\/strong>Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez underscored the importance of discipline, responsibility, and accountability, particularly among individuals preparing for careers in public service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This incident serves as a reminder that discipline and responsible behavior must be practiced at all times, especially by those aspiring to become future law enforcers,\u201d Mendez said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe assure the public that appropriate actions are being undertaken in coordination with the concerned agencies and stakeholders to ensure accountability and adherence to the law,” he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mendez urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by responsibly reporting incidents that may affect public safety and community welfare.<\/strong><\/p>\n
