THREE overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were injured in a drone strike at the Kuwait International Airport on June 3, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Kuwaiti state media, the attack killed an Indian national and wounded 63 individuals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said two of the OFWs underwent treatment for smoke inhalation while the other required several stitches in the hand and head.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cacdac said the injured Filipinos have been visited by their Migrant Workers Office and personnel from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The DMW advised all OFWs in Kuwait to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The drone attack caused severe damage to several airport facilities and forcing the suspension of airport operations.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Kuwaiti government blamed Iran for the attack. The incident followed\u00a0U.S. military strikes on Qeshm Island.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In response to the U.S. attack, Iran launched attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Iran has denied responsibility for the attack. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Iranian officials instead claimed that US interceptor missiles missed their intended targets and caused the explosion.<\/strong><\/p>\n
