Maganda po \u2018yung data natin,\u201d she said. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Asked which countries account for the largest number of visitors, Sandoval said the top five for 2025 remain largely unchanged from previous years. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Based on available data, she said the number one for 2026 remains South Korean, followed by Americans, then Canadians, Japanese, and Chinese. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She noted that the same nationalities consistently appear as top visitors year after year, but the Department of Tourism (DOT) is actively exploring new markets. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cOur Department of Tourism is also tapping into other tourism markets, even those outside the ASEAN region. Kasi alam po natin na marami rin na interesado doon sa ganda po ng Pilipinas,\u201d Sandoval said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The BI, she added, is working closely with the DOT by sharing arrival data to help craft a \u201ctargeted approach when it comes to inviting foreign tourists to the Philippines. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201d \u2018Protect the Philippines\u2019 and \u2018Love the Philippines\u2019 go hand in hand When asked how the BI balances its border security mandate \u2014 \u201cProtect the Philippines\u201d \u2014 with the government\u2019s tourism promotion campaign \u201cLove the Philippines,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sandoval said the two objectives complement each other. \u201cAng atin pong pagbabantay sa ating borders to protect our country from outside threats ay hindi naman po nagiging hadlang para imbitahan po natin ang mga turista na pumasok at love the Philippines. Ito naman po can work hand-in-hand,\u201d she added. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Security is actually a selling point for travelers, she said.
