{"id":20632,"date":"2026-07-04T01:36:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T17:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=20632"},"modified":"2026-07-04T01:38:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T17:38:53","slug":"bpi-rcbc-waive-transfer-fees-more-banks-expected-to-follow-bsp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/07\/04\/bpi-rcbc-waive-transfer-fees-more-banks-expected-to-follow-bsp\/","title":{"rendered":"BPI, RCBC WAIVE TRANSFER FEES, MORE BANKS\u00a0 EXPECTED TO FOLLOW &#8212; BSP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BANGKO Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr. on Friday said that more banks are expected to waive transfer fees for transactions with other financial institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Th<\/strong><strong>e BSP gave financial institutions until Saturday, July 4, to adjust transfer fees and comply with a circular that caps the difference between interbank and intrabank fees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;In about two days, we expect more banks to follow,&#8221; he told mediamen in an interview.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Earlier this week, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) announced that it would waive fees for fund transfers to other banks and electronic wallets (e-wallets) via InstaPay and PESONet made through its digital platforms, including the BPI app, Vybe, BizKo and its subsidiary, BanKO.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>BPI said the move supports the BSP\u2019s financial inclusion initiative by providing reasonable and fair market-based pricing for person-to-person electronic fund transfers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) also announced earlier Friday that it would waive InstaPay fees for transactions made through its digital banking applications starting July 4.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to Remolona the development in the country&#8217;s payment system gives consumers more options.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cKung marami kasama, mas maganda, \u2018di ba?
