{"id":20944,"date":"2026-08-01T14:22:05","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T06:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=20944"},"modified":"2026-08-01T14:23:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T06:23:30","slug":"ex-senator-bong-revilla-allowed-to-post-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/08\/01\/ex-senator-bong-revilla-allowed-to-post-bail\/","title":{"rendered":"EX-SENATOR BONG REVILLA ALLOWED TO POST BAIL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FORMER Senator Ramon \u201cBong\u201d \u00a0Revilla Jr. on Friday night was temporarily released from jail after the Sandiganbayan Third Division granted his bail petition in connection with the malversation charges filed against him.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Revilla was temporarily freed from the <\/strong><strong>Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory at <\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>6:14 p.m.<\/strong><strong> on Friday after posting a P1 million cash bond.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The former senator \u00a0<\/strong><strong>had been detained due to charges of malversation and graft in connection with his alleged involvement in a ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan worth P92.8 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>However, <\/strong><strong>the court denied the bail petition of Revilla\u2019s co-accused former Department of Public Works (DPWH) engineer Brice Hernandez and other DPWH officials.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In its ruling the Anti-graft Court said it approved the bail petition over the prosecution\u2019s failure to establish strong evidence of guilt against Revilla during the proceedings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGod is good.\u201d Salamat sa Panginoon,\u201d Revilla wrote in his Facebook post.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FORMER Senator Ramon &ldquo;Bong&rdquo;
