CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A speedy investigation by the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station led to the voluntary surrender of the alleged mastermind in the killing of a former barangay secretary and teacher in Santa Maria, Bulacan.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the suspect surrendered to authorities at the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station after reportedly learning that he had been identified by the victim before his death.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Victim Stephen, 38, a former barangay secretary and a teacher, died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the attack.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Probers said the teacher made a dying declaration while undergoing medical treatment, identifying the person he believed was responsible for the shooting.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Acting on the victim’s statement, police immediately intensified their case build-up, evidence gathering, and documentation, which eventually resulted in the voluntary surrender of the suspect.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez commended the responding police officers and investigators for their professionalism and dedication in handling the case.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

“This development reflects the commitment of our police personnel to conduct swift, impartial, and evidence-based investigations. We remain resolute in ensuring that justice is served while upholding the rule of law and respecting the rights of all parties involved,” Mendez said.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
