{"id":21589,"date":"2026-10-03T23:43:44","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T15:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=21589"},"modified":"2026-10-03T23:45:43","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T15:45:43","slug":"over-p590m-child-vaccines-wasted-in-2025-gatchalian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/10\/03\/over-p590m-child-vaccines-wasted-in-2025-gatchalian\/","title":{"rendered":"OVER P590M WORTH OF CHILD VACCINES WASTED IN 2025 \u2013 GATCHALIAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MORE <\/strong><strong>than P590 million for the government\u2019s vaccination program was wasted in 2025, Senate President Win Gatchalian said during the Senate Committee on Finance\u2019s hearing on the proposed 2027 budget of the Department of Health (DOH) and its attached agencies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citing data from the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II), Gatchalian emphasized that 62.41%, or P4.93 billion, of the P7.9 billion allotted for the National Immunization Program (NIP) in 2025 was for the seven vaccines needed in the first 1,000 days of a child\u2019s life.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He said the wastage rate of these vaccines for children\u2019s first 1,000 days has a corresponding value of approximately P590.3 million for fiscal year 2025.
