UNIVERSITY of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City on Thursday received an online threat that triggered the evacuation of students for their safety.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Initial investigation showed the message, allegedly coming from an Instagram account of a \u00a0UP Diliman student, was received around 1:54 p.m Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The threat allegedly targetted the Palma and Malcolm hall areas of UP –\u00a0 Diliman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The message read: \u201cMaghahasik ng lagim sa buong Palma at Malcolm. Humanda kayong lahat.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Personnel of the Quezon City Police District\u2019s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) immediately responded and scoured the area. <\/strong><\/p>\n

No suspicious or hazardous items were found during the inspection.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The city\u2019s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office<\/strong> (DRRMO) declared a false alarm at 3:06 p.m.,.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students were later advised to return to their classrooms. Classes resumed at around 3:10 p.m.\u00a0of the same day.<\/strong><\/p>\n
