{"id":21836,"date":"2026-10-24T02:44:19","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T18:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=21836"},"modified":"2026-10-24T02:44:19","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T18:44:19","slug":"pasay-cop-in-viral-domestic-abuse-video-relieved-from-post-faces-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/10\/24\/pasay-cop-in-viral-domestic-abuse-video-relieved-from-post-faces-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"PASAY COP IN VIRAL DOMESTIC ABUSE VIDEO RELIEVED FROM POST; FACES CHARGES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A POLICE officer in Pasay City accused of domestic abuse which video of the alleged violence against his live-in partner circulated on Facebook was ordered relieved from his post.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The video, which was uploaded on October 20, 2026, drew widespread public attention. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Pasay City Police Station promptly relieved the officer from Substation 1 at the CCP Complex and reassigned him to the District Personnel Holding and Accounting Section on October 21, 2026. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The accused cop\u2019s issued 9mm Pietro Beretta pistol, one magazine, and 14 rounds of live ammunition, were also turned over to the unit\u2019s supply personnel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A criminal complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 was filed before the Pasay City Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Separately, a pre-charge investigation recommended administrative complaints for Grave Misconduct and Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer, both classified as grave offenses, for referral to the District Investigation and Detective Management Division.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The investigation cited the complainant\u2019s sworn statement, medico-legal documents, and CCTV footage concerning alleged incidents of physical violence. The officer was directed to submit his explanation in observance of due process. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. <\/strong><strong>emphasized that police personnel are bound by the same laws they are sworn to enforce. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cNo position or uniform exempts any police officer from accountability. Every allegation of abuse must be addressed seriously, with the appropriate disciplinary measures pursued in accordance with established rules and due process,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAng uniporme ay sagisag ng tungkulin at tiwala ng publiko.
