{"id":21849,"date":"2026-10-25T15:09:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T07:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=21849"},"modified":"2026-10-25T15:40:49","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T07:40:49","slug":"bomb-threat-hits-ust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2026\/10\/25\/bomb-threat-hits-ust\/","title":{"rendered":"BOMB THREAT HITS UST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A BOMB threat on Friday hit the University of Santo Tomas (UST) on Espa\u00f1a Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The incident prompted school authorities to suspend classes and evacuate the students and \u00a0employees to safer areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two bomb threat letters were discovered inside the women\u2019s comfort room of the university\u2019s Medicine Building.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A report from the Manila Police District (MPD) said that a student found a letter on top of a toilet tank on the fourth floor of the Medicine Building at 4:30 p.m. Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Another bomb threat letter was found by a housekeeping staff on the faculty restroom at the second floor of the building.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The letters said an explosive had been planted on school premises and at the main area of the Medicine Building and St. Raymund\u2019s Building.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The incident was immediately reported to school security and the nearest police station.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Members of the MPD Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit scoured the building and found no explosive.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Police declared the premises clear of bombs and other hazardous devices at 7:55 p.m. of the same day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A BOMB threat on Friday hit the University of Santo Tomas (UST) on Espa&ntilde;a Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila.
