CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has accounted for 88,047 firearms with expired registration across Central Luzon, achieving a 97.44-percent accomplishment rate under its Accounting and Disposition of Firearms with Expired Registration (ADFER) campaign as of October 31.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the PRO3, the accounted firearms represent 88,047 of the 90,217 firearms listed in its regional monitoring records.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Only 2,173 are still unaccounted for, largely due to difficulties in locating registered owners at their recorded addresses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the leadership of PRO3 director Jess Mendez, police units have accounted for 82,439 of the 84,612 individually registered firearms covered by the campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The regional police office said all 5,605 firearms registered under juridical entities have also been fully accounted for.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mendez directed police commanders to intensify efforts to locate registered owners whose addresses could no longer be found or verified while ensuring that firearms records are properly updated and reconciled.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The ADFER campaign aims to identify and account for firearms with expired registration, verify their status, and facilitate compliance with existing registration and disposition requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mendez also reminded unit commanders to closely supervise the remaining accounting activities and ensure that all necessary verification and documentation are completed in accordance with existing regulations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said the campaign supports the directive of PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. to strengthen firearms monitoring and accountability as part of the Philippine National Police’s broader crime prevention efforts.<\/strong><\/p>\n
