SUPREME Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo has ordered an investigation into an alleged bribery case involving a judge in Pasay City.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Chief Justice directed <\/strong>Court Administrator Raul B. Villanueva to look into the matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gesmundo issued the order after receiving a preliminary report from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding the arrest of an employee of a Regional Trial Court in Pasay City, for accepting P6-million from a litigant in exchange for a favorable judgment in a civil case.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Upon arrest, the employee allegedly said that the exchange was upon the instruction of the presiding judge.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Villanueva was directed by the Chief Justice to submit on Monday, May 27, 2024, a report and recommendation on the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, the SC<\/strong> did not mention the name of the employee and the presiding judge.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" SUPREME Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo has ordered an investigation into an alleged bribery case involving a judge in Pasay City.
