{"id":6127,"date":"2024-05-26T00:10:55","date_gmt":"2024-05-25T16:10:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/?p=6127"},"modified":"2024-05-26T00:10:55","modified_gmt":"2024-05-25T16:10:55","slug":"lto-extends-schedule-for-drivers-license-renewal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.journaldailynewsonline.com.ph\/index.php\/2024\/05\/26\/lto-extends-schedule-for-drivers-license-renewal\/","title":{"rendered":"LTO EXTENDS SCHEDULE FOR DRIVER\u2019S LICENSE RENEWAL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended the schedule for the renewal of driver\u2019s license.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>According to Plates Unit officer-in-charge Nivette Amber Pastorite, the extension is part of LTO\u2019s effort to address the backlog on driver\u2019s license renewal by June this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>At a forum in Quezon City on Saturday, Pastorite said the LTO is addressing the backlog in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos to deliver all pending applications for driver\u2019s license renewal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, Pastorite said all pending applications for motor vehicle plates have been served.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSa ngayon, sa motor vehicle we have no more backlog,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>What remains to be addressed, she added, is the backlog on motorcycle plates.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cA lot of the backlogs come from the motorcycle plates,\u201d she explained.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pastorite is confident the backlogs will be addressed with the help of the 21 printers recently acquired and the proposal to procure additional 365 card printers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The agency is eyeing to release in July the implementing guidelines of Executive Order No. 12.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>EO 12 temporarily modifies the rates of import duty on electric vehicles, parts and components.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAs of date po, based sa EO, we are still drafting the policy about this. Hopefully, we would release the guidelines on a later day po. Hopefully, by July po,\u201d engineer Oliver Marique of LTO said at the same a forum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>He said LTO will immediately release the policy once available.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>President Ferdinand R.
