A 60-YEAR-OLD woman on Wednesday died after she was attacked by a crocodile in Palawan.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The victim was identified as Monelba Sariol, a resident of Bgy. Malitub in Bataraza, Palawan.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Initial probe by the Bataraza Municipal Police Station showed that the elderly woman was last seen alive at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday doing her laundry by the river bank.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n An hour later, a neighbor saw a large crocodile carrying the lifeless body of Sariol down the river.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The victim\u2019s remains were recovered two hours later about one kilometer down the river from where the attack took place.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) called on residents of river communities to be watchful of the presence of crocodiles near river banks to avoid further attacks.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last May 25, 18-year-old Normelito Siplan was also attacked by a crocodile while wading the shallow waters in Bgy.
