US President Joe Biden has dropped out from the \u00a0presidential race <\/strong>in the November 2024 election.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The withdrawal came <\/strong>after weeks of mounting pressure from Democrats.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said the move is for the best interest of his party and his country.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Earlier, Democrats publicly urged the 81-year-old Biden to drop the race after his shaky debate performance last month against <\/strong>Republican challenger Donald Trump, 78.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Biden, who had previously dismissed calls to abandon his re-election bid, said <\/strong>he will stay on for the final six months of his term.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n He endorsed Kamala Harris, his vice president, to be the new Democratic nominee.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Harris said she intends to win and will do everything in her power to unite the nation to defeat Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Former President Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton, who ran against Trump in 2016, also endorsed Harris, saying Democrats must “fight with everything we’ve got to elect her.”<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ex-President Barack Obama said Democrats will name an “outstanding nominee,” but does not endorse any candidate.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Americans are set to cast their vote for presidential election on November 5 this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" US President Joe Biden has dropped out from the presidential race in the November 2024 election.
