BY BIBOY DE LEON<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n THE total number of students enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year is almost P28 million.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is based on the latest data from the Learner Information System (LIS) for SY 2023-2024 of the Department of Education (DepEd).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n As of todate, the LIS has recorded 28,035,042 total number of students who registered for the new school year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This number includes students enrolled in public and private schools, as well as in state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local universities and colleges (LUCs).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to DepEd, of the number, the most registered in Region IV-A (Calabarzon) which reached 3,913,016.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It is followed by Region III (Central Luzon) with 2,956,658 and National Capital Region (NCR) with 2,779,389.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) has recorded 330,578 enrollees.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The DepEd said although the class opened last August 29, they will continue to accept late enrollees until the end of September.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n DepEd is confident that they will reach the target of more than 28 million enrollees by the said period.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to DepEd, the total number of enrollees for SY 2023-2024 will only be announced once the ongoing encoding period closes on October 30.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" BY BIBOY DE LEON THE total number of students enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year is almost P28 million.
