THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced that all 23 Filipino seafarers aboard the MT Sounion, which was attacked by Houthi rebels off the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, are safe.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The DMW said the seafarers were successfully rescued by the French Navy and are currently en route to a safe port.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This update was shared by the DMW following information from the Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, Anne Jalando-on Louis, and confirmed by Philippine Defense Attach\u00e9s Captain Gacusan and Captain Romeo Marana.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The DMW, together with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administraiton (OWWA), is working on the immediate repatriation of our seafarers.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Upon their return, they will receive full support, including psycho-social, financial, training, and reintegration assistance.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWe are deeply grateful for the swift actions that ensured the safety of our seafarers.
