Revilla and Office of the City Health Services (OCHS) headed by Dra. Ivy Marie Yrastorza, launched the \u201cBakuna Eskwela\u201d at Longos Elementary School.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe goal of the program is to ensure safe and effective vaccines for the students of Longos Elementary School, as a step in strengthening the health of children in Bacoor,&#8217; Dr. Yrastorza said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vaccination of students also started in Dasmarinas City, Cavite City, and General Trias City.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thousands of children in public schools are expected to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) as the Department of Health (DOH) and the DepEd formally launched their joint school-based immunization drive recently.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:image {\"id\":9330,\"sizeSlug\":\"full\",\"linkDestination\":\"none\"} --><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"893\" height=\"610\" wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The DOH aims to vaccinate at least five million children in public schools through the two-month \u201cBakuna Eskwela\u201d campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cBakuna Eskwela\u201d is a vaccination drive designed to protect school-aged children against measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria (MR, Td), and human papillomavirus (HPV).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>The school-based immunization emphasizes the importance of vaccinating children.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cBakuna Eskwela\u201d focuses on immunizing public school students in Grades 1 to with MR and Td vaccines, while female Grade 4 students in selected public schools will be given with HPV vaccine that will provide them protection against cervical cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--
