A 65-YEAR-OLD store owner on Thursday was shot dead in Bgy. San Miguel, Tarlac City.
A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan identified the victim as Dennis Hilay, a resident of Bgy. San Miguel, Taralac City.
Witness Jerry Esmelo told police that the victim was inside the store when the suspect on a motorcycle arrived and pretended to buy something.
The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the chest before fleeing.
The victim was rushed to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Danilo Reyes Dion Jr..
Police immediately activated “Oplan Kandado” for possible arrest of the gunman.
