At least 30 persons were rescued from flooding in Puerto Princesa, Palawan as relentless rains brought by the shear line and northeast monsoon continue to affect the region.
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) said that as of February 9, 2025, they have rescued 30 individuals in Bgy. San Manuel in Puerto Princesa.
According to the PRC, its Palawan chapter, in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard-Palawan, led the rescue operations in Bgy. San Manuel, where residents were evacuated to safety at the barangay hall.
The PRC also established a welfare desk at the Bgy. San Manuel Evacuation Center to provide immediate aid and support to evacuees.
The rescue mission follows warnings from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) of continued moderate to heavy rainfall in Palawan, Quezon, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.
With floodwaters rising and landslides posing additional risks, authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant.
The PRC continues to mobilize resources and monitor conditions in affected areas as rains are expected to persist in the coming days.
