CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested two drug suspects and seized some P2.72 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Mabalacat City Police Station arrested alias “Boy” and alias “Dondon,” both 35 years old residing in Bgy. Dau.
Confiscated were around 400 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P2.72 million.
Authorities tagged “Boy” as a high-value individual (HVI) who had been under intelligence monitoring.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspects and the seized evidence were brought to the Mabalacat City Police Station for investigation.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the arreste duo.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez commended the operating team, stressing that police would continue pursuing those involved in the illegal drug trade.
“We will not allow illegal drugs to continue entering and spreading in our communities,” Mendez said, adding that sustained operations aim to prevent drugs from reaching the streets and harming Filipino families, particularly the youth.
He also emphasized the need to identify drug sources and prevent the distribution of illegal substances beyond the arrest of suspects.
Mendez said the operation forms part of the PRO3’s continuing anti-illegal drug campaign under the focused agenda of PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr..
