A WOMAN who tried to stop an “akyat-bahay” member from stealing at their house on Friday was stabbed in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
Police did not mention the name of the victim but identified the suspect, who was arrested in a follow-up operation as alias “Bala,” 44, a construction worker and a resident of Bgy. Dampe.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal said Marivic, 50, treasurer of Seventh Day Adventist Church; and Joyce,, 20, a student, both of Sitio Lambingan, Bgy. Dampe, Floridablanca, Pampanga were the occupants of the house.
Marivic and Joyce were sleeping when one of them sensed the presence of a stranger in the house.
The victim get up from bed and was surprised to see the suspect. She tried to fight off the thief.
However, she was stabbed by the suspect with a pair of scissors before escaping with the loot.
Dimaandal said the victims sought help from barangay officials, who immediately informed the Floridablanca police patrolling the area.
The cops conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of alias “Bala.”
Recovered from the suspect were a shoulder bag containing P10,000 in cash, a cellular phone and one motorcycle.
Investigation showed the ‘akyat-bahay’ gained entry into the house of the victims through the ceiling.
Police said the suspect will be charged with robbery and frustrated homicide.
