A STAND UP comedian was shot dead in Angeles City, Pampanga.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Angeles City police acting director Col. Joselito Villarosa Jr. identified the fatality as Goldenier Dagal, 38, a stand up comedian and a resident of East Ortigas Ave., Sta. Lucia, Pasig City.
The gun attack occurred inside a beer house on Ventura St. in Marisol Subd., Bgy. Ninoy Aquino, Angeles City.
Witnesses told responding cops that Dagal was sitting inside the beerhouse when three men approached and without a word shot him several times.
Dagal was rushed to AUF Medical Center but died later.
The Angeles City police immediately launched a flash alarm for the arrest of the gunmen.
Following the gun attack, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has ordered for an increased police visibility throughout the city and the strict enforcement of 24/7 checkpoints at all entry points.
“Nais po nating tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng bawat Angeleño. Sa pamamagitan ng mas pinaigting na police visibility at tuluy-tuloy na checkpoints, masisiguro nating mababawasan ang krimen at mas mapapanatag ang ating mga kababayan,” the mayor said.
Lazatin also emphasized that with the increase in police presence, business owners and residents can feel more secure and be encouraged to report crimes such as theft, robbery, and shooting incidents in their communities.
He added that to support the intensified security measures, the city government has allocated P11 million annually for the allowances of members of the Angeles City police.
