A BRITON on Saturday was found hanging and dead in a hotel room in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Angeles City police acting director Col. Joselito Villarosa Jr. reported to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo that the victim was a 64-year-old British national staying at a hotel on Lanzones St., Clarkview, Bgy. Malabanias, Angeles City.
Policemen were dispatched to the area after a hotel employee informed them that the foreigner was found dead inside his room.
Upon review of the CCTV around 1 a.m. on Saturday, the drunk foreigner was heard arguing loudly with someone.
At 2 p.m. of the same day, the hotel staff member knocked on his door to remind him of the checkout time but no one was answering.
The incident prompted the hotel management to use the master key to open the door.
The British national was found lifeless inside the shower room on a kneeling position, hanging by the neck, with a white rope tied on the roller guide of the shower frame.
Police found no sign of struggle or violence in the hotel room.
The hotel management contacted the wife of the victim.
The woman told probers she and her husband were having relationship problems prior to the alleged suicide.
