THREE children left by their mother to buy milk on Friday died in a fire that razed their home in Calumpit, Bulacan.
In a report to Police Regional Office (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Bulacan police director Col. Franklin Estoro said the three young siblings were aged one, three, and six years old.
The kids were left alone by their mom, Ann Torres, 32, a manicurist in their house at Purok 4 in Bgy. Gatbuca in Calumpit.
The mother told police that prior to the fire, she used a candle to light up her sleeping children since there was a brownout in their area.
The mother then went outside to buy milk. While she was returning home, she saw smoke coming from their house.
Torres immediately asked for help from barangay officials who informed the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Calumpit about the ongoing fire.
Firemen found the burnt bodies of the three children during clearing operation.
