ANGELES CITY — First district Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said that a total of 412 stall owners affected by the September 17 fire that razed the Pampang Public Market in this city will each receive P10,400 in financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Lazatin announced the approval of the assistance on November 5, expressing gratitude to the DSWD for acting on his request for financial aid for the affected vendors.
He said the payout is scheduled for November 12.
“Maliit lang na halaga ito na sana ay makatulong sa muling pagbangon ng ating stall owners sa Pampang,” the lawmaker said.
He also thanked the Angeles City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for providing the list of qualified stall owners submitted to the DSWD.
According to Lazatin, personnel from his office would begin contacting the beneficiaries on November 9 to provide details and other important information regarding the distribution of assistance.
Records showed that immediately after the September 17 fire, Lazatin wrote to the DSWD, through Regional Director Venus Rebuldela, requesting Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance for the owners of the 412 stalls destroyed in the blaze.
The approved assistance is expected to help the affected vendors recover from their losses and resume their livelihoods.
